How fit do I need to be to do this trek?

Annapurna Base Camp is a Grade B or a moderately difficult trekking route. So any fit person can do this trek, even if you do not have any previous experience. You should be aware of what to expect and mentally prepare for it. Then, as long as you will too, you can.

How long do we walk every day when doing Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

On average, you walk about 4 to 6 hours per day. One or two days can be as less as 3hrs and one or two days can be as long as 7hrs.

What is the highest altitude reached in this trek?

The highest altitude reached is 4190m. This is the elevation of Annapurna Base Camp. ABC is the highest we will climb in this trek.

What about battery charging and hot shower facilities?

Yes, you can charge batteries en route. Charger should be brought. There are hot shower facilities as well. You may have to pay a certain amount for both ($1-$2). Negotiate. Also, a hot water facility could be free at a lower elevation.

Are there ATMs on the way to Annapurna Base Camp?

No. There are no ATMs on this trek route. You will have to draw enough cash in Pokhara or Kathmandu. There are a number of ATMs in these cities. Everything is paid in Nepali rupees. So money should be exchanged before the start of the trek.

What about internet access?

Yes. The Internet can be accessed in most places. Sometimes, there might be some technical problems. The Internet in Nepal is not as fast as you are used to and at times you can just lose connection.

Is it necessary to hire Guides/trekking agency for Annapurna Base Camp trekking?

Not really. It depends on you. If you want, ABC trekking can be done independently. You could hire a guide and a porter by yourself instead of going through an agency or not hire a guide at all. Although, not having a guide can be a little problematic during the offseason. It really depends on you. Is it your first time in Nepal? How confident are you of being able to find your way around? How pressed on time are you? If you go through an agency, it will be costlier but everything will be planned. You will only have to come, trek and return.

How much do guides and porters cost?

For the Annapurna region, pay for guides range from $20 to $30 per day and porters take $15 to $25 per day.

Day 1 :

Arrival in Jaipur - Explore the Pink City

Upon arrival at Jaipur Airport or Railway Station, you’ll be welcomed by our representative and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, begin your sightseeing with a visit to the majestic Amber Fort, where you may enjoy an optional elephant ride. Continue to Jaigarh Fort for sweeping views of the Aravalli Hills, and admire the serene Jal Mahal floating on Man Sagar Lake. Conclude your day at the iconic Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

Day 2 :

Jaipur Local Sightseeing

After breakfast, explore more of Jaipur’s treasures. Visit the opulent City Palace, then marvel at the astronomical wonders of Jantar Mantar. Revisit Hawa Mahal for a closer look, followed by a visit to the Albert Hall Museum. End the day at the beautifully crafted Birla Temple and the colourful Patrika Gate, perfect for photos. Overnight stay in Jaipur.

Day 3 :

Jaipur to Bikaner

Post breakfast, check out and head towards Bikaner. Upon arrival, visit the grand Junagarh Fort with its fascinating interiors. Stop by the government camel-breeding farm for a unique experience. Later, visit the famous Karni Mata Temple, known for its thousands of resident rats. Overnight stay in Bikaner.

Day 4 :

Bikaner to Jaisalmer

After breakfast, check out and drive to Jaisalmer. En route, visit the Jaisalmer War Museum to understand the region's military history. On arrival, check in at your hotel and relax. Overnight stay in Jaisalmer.

Day 5 :

Jaisalmer to Sam Sand Dunes

Post breakfast, explore the golden city of Jaisalmer. Visit the iconic Jaisalmer Fort (Sonar Quila), Salim Singh ki Haveli, Patwon ki Haveli, and the scenic Gadisar Lake. See the royal cenotaphs at Bada Bagh. In the afternoon, transfer to Sam for a desert experience-camel ride on the dunes, cultural folk performances, snacks, and a traditional dinner at the camp. Overnight stay at Desert Camp in Sam.

Day 6 :

Jaisalmer to Jodhpur

After breakfast, check out and proceed to Jodhpur. Upon arrival, visit the majestic Mehrangarh Fort, followed by the serene Jaswant Thada and the intricate stepwell at Toorji Ka Jhalra. Explore Mandore Garden and marvel at the grandeur of Umaid Bhawan Palace. End your day at Ghanta Ghar (Clock Tower) and shop at Sardar Market. Overnight stay in Jodhpur.

Day 07 :

Jodhpur to Udaipur via Kumbhalgarh

After breakfast, check out and drive to Udaipur. En route, visit the mighty Kumbhalgarh Fort (closed on Sundays), known for its impressive walls and hilltop views. Continue to Udaipur and check in to your hotel. Overnight stay in Udaipur.

Day 08 :

Udaipur Local Sightseeing

Enjoy breakfast and get ready to explore the City of Lakes. Visit the grand City Palace, followed by a peaceful walk through Sahelion-ki-Bari. Take a scenic boat ride on Lake Pichola. Later, visit Moti Magari, Jagdish Temple, Fateh Sagar Lake, and end the day at the Vintage Car Museum. Overnight stay in Udaipur.

Day 09 :

Departure from Udaipur

After breakfast, check out and transfer to Udaipur Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey with beautiful memories of Rajasthan’s royal heritage and scenic wonders.
